Virginia, with it's east coast on the Atlantic Ocean and bordered by West Virginia,
Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Washington DC, is our nineth state to
join the Union. In 1607, English colonists seeking new life, settled and named
it after their king, Jame I. In 2007, Virginia celebrated it 400th anniversary.
Damscus is also home to Mt. Rogers, a world favorite destination for hiking and
experiencing the true outdoors. Our small town is crossed by the Virginia Creeper
National Recreation Trail named after a railroad that crept up the mountains to
almost 2000 feet at grades up to seven percent and the famous Appalachian Trail
stretching over 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine.
Nestled in the beautiful rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountais, in southwest
Virginia, very close to Tennessee and North Carolina is the home of Columbus
McKinnon's Hoist Manufacturing Plant. Here, CM manufactures electric chain hoist
up to 20 ton capacity, hand and lever operated hoist as well as air powered chain hoist
and of course the Lodestar Electric Chain Motors.
Training:
This two-day ETCP recognized training course in the design and operation of the hoists,
maintenance needs, inspection requirements and troubleshooting will set you a part from
the rest . All of this will be achieved through a hands-on teardown, inspection and rebuild
various motors. After the course will be an exam and of sucessful will carry a 5 year motor
technician certification.
