Day 1. Hand Hoist Maintenance and Rigging Gear Inspection School
First day of the seminar seminar covers the recommended procedure for setting up an effective in-house rigging gear and hand hoist maintenance and inspection program. The elements of such a program are given to each employee in a CM Hoist/Chain Safety Kit. Students will also receive maintenance manuals for each CM hoist along with inspection guideline sheets.
Course agenda:
Frequent and Periodic Inspections
Mechanical brake maintenance
Inspection procedures and removal criteria per OSHA, ASME
Complete teardown and rebuild of CM hand chain and lever hoists
Load-testing procedures
Equipment used on day 1 for hands-on:
CM lever tools and chain operated hoist such as the Puller, Series 653 lever tool, Rigger, Cyclone, Series 622, Hurricane,
Day 2. Electric Hoist Service School
By the end of the second day, students will tear down inspect, reassemble and test each hoist to insure proper operation. Students will also receive maintenance manuals for each CM hoist and inspection guideline sheets.

Electric Hoist Anatomy
Basic Electrical Theory
Understanding the hoists electrical system Reading a wiring diagram
Mechanical Brake Maintenance
Inspection and maintenance criteria and guidelines per ASME
Complete teardown and rebuild of the Lodestar hoist
Troubleshooting skills
Proof-testing procedures
